Log 9: I just cannot - Part 2/2

Image
I'd say the plants grew surprisingly well, considering I hadn't watered them much this week. Yep let's get right into it, I didn't have time for taking photos of many of them, I only have two for the poppies. I once again couldn't do the growth rates. Yeah. Aster A - 16" that's pretty good Aster B - 13" Aster C - 10" Aster D - 11.5" Aster E - 15" Yarro F - 8" Yarro G - 8" Yarro H - 7" Yarro I - 8.5" Strawberry J - 5" Strawberry K - 5.5" Poppy L - I only found 2 sprouts, but that's better than none. so I guess the poppies still have a small chance of survival. But one of the sprouts is very likely to be another weed.   BYE!

Log 8: I just cannot -Part 1/2

Image
Hi so I was supposed to write this one a week ago, I'm mentally drained and I have to do 2 logs today, so I'm just going to make this quick. No time for growth rates, either.  Aster A - 14.5" Aster B - 12.5" these photos are just the baby asters I've found in their pots. Aster C - 10"   Aster D - 10.25"   Aster E - 14.25" no photo Yarro F - 7" no photo Yarro G - 7.25" the photo is all the yarro plants except for F. I transplanted these to larger pots, the old pot for comparison is also in the photo. That's why the height will be taller from now on. Yarro H - 7" Yarro I - 8" Strawberry J - 5.25" This is both of my strawberry plants. Strawberry K - 5.5" Poppy L - Not great, the storm really beat them up.  Okay, now I have to write the 9th log so bye for now.

Log 7: Would You Name Your Child Fanny? I Didn't Think So

Hi, I'm growing plants and documenting their progress, and this is Log 7. Hey, look at that, I'm writing this only a day late! Impressive. I'll try to name a few more plants today. I don't have much hope for the plants right now, the storms really affected them. Okay I'll get into it straightaway now. Aster A "Abraham Sausage Linkoln" - 14", grew 0.25", growth per day for the week (which I call gr for growth rate)=0.03125" per day. The photo shows a lot of the damage it got, even though it did grow a little. Aster B "Beef Jerky" - 13", grew 1", GR=0.125" per day. Also damaged, of course, but plenty of growth, which was pretty surprising, considering the state of the other plants. Aster C - 10.5", lost 0.5".  Definitely got hit hard. This one was small when I got it, so it seems like it's always been a bit more sensitive. I don't know if the leaf I found is from this plant, but it was in its pot. I t

Log 6: Let's Pretend Like I Posted This Last Week, When I Was Supposed To Post :)

Hi, I'm growing plants and documenting their progress so this is Log 6, let's go. Hello there, lots of storms again. I'm sure a few of them have grown, but some may not have been able to withstand the strong wind and heavy rain. I won't blabber on today, because I just wanted to bless all you non-existent readers. Give you a little gift. Another gift for today, I'm going to name two of these suckers. So a few of those you'll see. Okay okay I swear that's it. Aster A "Abraham Sausage Linkoln" - 13.75", lost 0.5". That's not great but honestly I'm okay with it because it's still my tallest aster. I'm naming this one Abraham for that reason, and threw in a little pun after. Sausage link. Lincoln. yeah. No photo. Aster B "Beef Jerky" - 12", grew 0.5", growth rate per day for the week (gr is what i'm calling it)=0.07142857" per day! not bad at all. I'm calling this one Beef Jerky because they ar

Log 5: Is "Stormy" The Name Of A Pokemon? Just Wondering

Hi, I'm growing plants & documenting their progress so this is log 5, let's go. (I think somehow this didn't post last week so I'm posting now, sorry) Good morning, or afternoon, or evening or whatever time it is. And hey, Happy New Year! The day after Log 5 (or when I was supposed to post it, since I actually did it late), I went on a trip for the rest of the week. I got back today. I was really worried about my plants and thought I'd have to get someone else to water them for me.     But THANK GOODNESS. THANK GOD. THANK EVERYTHING. It was raining like, everyday, and then there was a huge storm. That also concerned me. I was fairly sure that most of the plants would be able to handle it, but I was scared for the poppies that I'm growing from seed. They're still so delicate, and the area where I live got pretty flooded. At least I live on a hill, and I keep the plants on sort of higher ground. Thankfully, all plants were okay, and I think they mostly ben

Intro for people who don't know what they're reading: Hi, I'm growing plants and documenting their progress. Ok let's go. Heyyy there! It's Log 4 already?? I feel like I've already done 20 of these things. God, I can't believe I even considered doing logs twice a week. Yes, I know, I didn't publish last week. I was busy. I didn't have time to write it, but I still took measurements of the plants last week and today, so I'm doing two posts this week. I have been diligently watering and watering and watering, watering, watering the plants. Like, way more than you'd think they would need. But they're resilient plants, they've got nice soil, and plus they have holes for drainage in their pots. So here's the results from my efforts! Aster A - 12.5" It was the same height as the week before :( . At least it didn't shrink though, that's progress!! In this photo you can see a good amount of new leaves. Aster B - 11"...
