Log 4: [ insert: "funny/_creative_title" & "intriguing_thing_2say" here ]

Intro for people who don't know what they're reading: Hi, I'm growing plants and documenting their progress. Ok let's go.

Heyyy there! It's Log 4 already?? I feel like I've already done 20 of these things. God, I can't believe I even considered doing logs twice a week. Yes, I know, I didn't publish last week. I was busy. I didn't have time to write it, but I still took measurements of the plants last week and today, so I'm doing two posts this week.

I have been diligently watering and watering and watering, watering, watering the plants. Like, way more than you'd think they would need. But they're resilient plants, they've got nice soil, and plus they have holes for drainage in their pots. So here's the results from my efforts!

Aster A - 12.5" It was the same height as the week before :( . At least it didn't shrink though, that's progress!! In this photo you can see a good amount of new leaves.

Aster B - 11"... Aster B always gives me trouble. It only lost half an inch though so that is also good progress. It has new leaves though!

Aster C - 11" growth rate (per day that week): 0.14" (0.14285714) Yes!! We have some growth! Finally. no photo for this one.

Aster D - 11.5" growth rate: 0.18" (0.17857143) This one did better than aster c! Things are looking good. No photos.

Aster E - 12" growth rate: 0.14" (same as Aster C) Grew an inch! very good :)      In the photo you see the same leaves that were shown in Log 3. I think they look a little healthier.

Yarro F - Again, I don't think I'll be measuring these yet because they're still so small. The poppies in there are looking great though.

Yarro G - 5.5" so the same as last time. I don't expect any of the yarro plants to grow much so this is okay.

Yarro H - This one had like one leaf that was giving it more height before, but now it's dying so it doesn't even go out of the pot now. It used to be 4.5" I believe? The pot is a tiny bit shorter than 4".

Yarro I - 5.5" Also the same as Yarro G. no growth.

Strawberry J - Both the strawberry plants are probably about the same. I don't expect these to gain much height either.

Strawberry K - the same :)

Poppy L - Also very short since they're just little sprouts I'm growing from seed. I think that really big one is a weed. I'm letting it grow just a bit more because I'm curious to see what it will look like. I'll still have to remove it soon, but it's not in the way of the others so far and there's plenty of water to go around. Also, there are maybe two that have weird brown nubs on the ends. You can see one a little more in the second photo. I do think they are poppies, though.

Conclusion

So I've confirmed that they needed way more water. Yep, that's definitely the way to go. Mary (who supplied the plants) told me that they have a very low chance of being overwatered. It would be ideal to have these plants grow bigger or stay the same. If I want the plants to do well, I will have to water them even more than I already do. This week was still decent, though. Most plants stayed the same height but got healthier! And some plants even grew a bit!

Log 5 will also be published later today!

Bye <( ^ (o o) ^ )>
